Network Systems Engineer
Prime Communications Inc., an
information technology integration company is currently seeking a Network
Systems Engineer to be a part of our IT solutions team. Our Networking,
Telephony Wireless and Systems Engineers work on both individual client
projects including system installations and mid-term support programs.
Headquartered in Elkhorn, Nebraska, we are an innovative, forward-thinking
information technology service and equipment provider. We specialize in convergent
technology solutions including TDM and VoIP business telephone systems, IT
security solutions, networking, wireless networking and IP-based physical

The Position:
The Network Engineer will report to the Director of IT of the company. He/she
is responsible for the planning, coordination and installation/integration of a
large variety of IT systems, with an emphasis on Networking. This key technical
position requires demonstrated technical and time management skills, along with
strong interpersonal communication skills.
Key Qualifications:
- Network Engineer candidates must possess a confident
and professional demeanor, client-focused approach, commitment to detail
and a quality-oriented attitude.
- Position requirements include:
- Experience and proficiency in the installation and
support of Networking. One or more technical certifications from a
major a huge plus.
- Working knowledge of Wireless technologies a plus
- Working knowledge of Voice technologies a plus.
- Working knowledge of IP based Security Systems a plus.
- Working knowledge of Server and Storage systems a plus.
- Strong understanding or IP, Layer 2/3 connectivity a
big plus.
- Must be highly organized with excellent time management
skills.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to
details.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and meet business
objectives.
- Ability to think independently and formulate solutions.
- Ability to foster positive strategic working
relationships.
- Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills,
including the confidence to explain a system implementation plan as well
as the basics of technology and product usage.
- Must be able to support customers and sales staff in
the office and in the field. A varying combination of office work
and travel to customer environments is required.
- 3 - 5+ years experience working with installation of Network,
Wireless, Voice or Data communication systems and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Some out of area travel will be required possibly as
high as 15%.
- Basic work week is M-F, 7:30 to 4:30 with some
scheduled after-hours installation work.
Compensation:
- Compensation is commensurate with experience and
expertice. We offer a competitive compensation package including base
